Stop the Silence, Speak Up
A group of high school seniors has designed a filmmaking campaign to bring awareness of bullying (which is known as “Old School Bullying”).
Feb. 26, 2013- An anti-bullying group known as “Stop Old School Bullying” has designed a film making competition in order to bring awareness of Old School Bullying ( which is still known for the physical and verbal abuse that still exist today). The statistics show that over 3.2 billion adults have experience with bullying each year. 75% of school-shooting incidents has been linked to bullying and harassment. This information has inspired a group of high school seniors from the Foshay Learning Center, located near USC, to start a campaign urging to speak up against bullying.
The competition is set in their website campaign called “ Stop Old School Bullying” ( the link is below to find more about the competition and rules) and urges anyone that is willing to share their story to create a video about their experiences. The Grand Prize of the winner is a $50 dollar gift card of the selected stores. The campaign leader Willie Rabanales, “This competition is not about the prize, but rather to show that old school bullying still exist in the 21st century and we must show that is generation is ready to end it”.
